Our President, Dénes András Nagy, has been invited to attend the “NATO Engages – Brussels Summit Dialogue”, co-organised by the Atlantic Council, the German Marshall Fund (GMF), the Munich Security Conference (MSC), and Women in International Security (WIIS) in partnership with NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division.
Organised between the 11-12th of July, “NATO Engages” acts as an assembly of experts and leaders from business, civil society, politics and the media focusing on security in the 21st century.
Talos is grateful to have been invited to be represented at this event. We are honored to have the opportunity to contribute to it our insights coming from the perspective of the civic technology sector.
In our view, 21st century advancements in the field of civic technology could and should be utilized, in order to empower citizens to make inputs into our deliberative democratic processes, through which security and defence policies are formulated. Using the best practice example of our European Commission’s Public Consultation system, civilian expertise could be crowdsourced through E-Consultation systems to institutionally drive reforms – thus creating a direct channel between our institutions and the citizens they serve to protect.
