Why should You support this cause?

Nearly two decades have passed since the initiation of the Bologna Process and EU citizens still face great obstacles when continuing in higher education or applying for jobs with degrees and qualifications earned in other EU Member States. This Cause seeks to develop the automatic and mutual recognition of diplomas earned at institutions of higher education accredited within the Member States of our European Union. After two decades, there has been progress in some areas, such as greatly increasing the funding for the Erasmus+ program, the initiation of the process of establishing a European Higher Education Area and the initiation of the European Qualifications Framework for mutual comparison. This is why mutual  recognition and accreditation remain crucial issues which need to be tackled immediately which would provide the first building block for the establishment of a genuine European Higher Education Area and to make better use of the European Qualifications Framework. This is why we need to tackle the challenge of achieving the automatic and mutual recognition of diplomas, degrees and qualifications. Without providing a solution to this issue of public concern, the European Higher Education Area will not fulfil the potential that it can offer its citizens for more accessible education and easier entry to the labor market. Cutting bureaucratic red tape needs to be a priority to make education and thus the labor market more accessible for everyone.

In order to further this Cause, we will soon be registering a European Parliament petition to raise this topic to the agenda of our representative assembly. Currently, we are looking for team members to help push forward this Cause. Join us if you agree that diplomas, qualifications and certificates earned in higher education institutions accredited within EU Member States should be automatically and mutually recognized – let us take together a bold step towards creating a real European Higher Education Area!
